Fiesta ST Mk7 or Mk8 starts as a three-drawing question

Three blank comparison cards and measuring tools on a dark workshop table
One Mk7 drawing and two Mk8 faces make the year the first useful clue.

In short

  • The catalogue Mk7 uses a 1.6-litre engine, while both Mk8 drawings use the 1.5-litre engine wording.
  • The signed Mk7 print is lighter, and the Mk8 facelift raises torque from 290 Nm to 320 Nm.
  • Choose the drawing from the car’s year and face before comparing condition or performance figures.

The useful split is not simply Mk7 or Mk8. The later generation contains two front ends, and the picture is what a portrait sells. Settle that first. Then compare the signed figures without turning them into a verdict on a used car.

Should you choose a Fiesta ST Mk7 or Mk8?

Choose the generation and face that match the car you own or are inspecting. The Mk7 has the lower signed poster weight. The Mk8 prints show more power, while the facelift adds torque. Condition and history still decide a purchase.

Catalogue answerStart with the Mk7 drawing

The catalogue Mk7 covers 2013 to 2017. Confirm the exact year and front-end shape before opening its builder.

Which Fiesta ST years belong to each drawing?

The Mk7 drawing covers 2013 to 2017. The Mk8 pre-facelift covers 2018 to 2021. The revised Mk8 face covers 2022 to 2023. A date must still agree with the visible car and its documents.

See the full Fiesta ST generation finder when the badge name came from an advert or memory. It shows the drawings together instead of making the generation number do all the work.

How do the three signed Fiesta ST prints compare?

The Mk7 lists 179 bhp, 240 Nm and 1088 kg. The pre-facelift Mk8 lists 197 bhp, 290 Nm and 1208 kg. The facelift keeps 197 bhp but lists 320 Nm and 1267 kg.

Why can the figures not choose a used Fiesta ST?

A poster block cannot inspect maintenance, tyres, repairs, corrosion or modifications. Compare two cars only after their identities and condition have been established to the same standard.

Use the Mk7 viewing checklist or the pre-facelift Mk8 checklist. Higher power does not price an unresolved symptom.

Where do the Fiesta ST comparison figures come from?

Every value in the table comes from the three publishable catalogue models signed by Jonathan. Ford’s official releases support the engine generations and the facelift torque change, but they do not override the poster values.

Ford’s 2021 facelift release records the rise from 290 Nm to 320 Nm. Compare the three drawings before choosing a builder.

Questions people actually ask

Is a Fiesta ST Mk8 faster than a Mk7?
The signed prints list 6.7 seconds to 60 mph for the Mk7 and 6.5 for both Mk8 drawings. Those poster figures do not decide which used car is better, and manufacturer 0 to 62 mph measurements should not be mixed with them.
What years are the Fiesta ST Mk7 and Mk8?
The catalogue Mk7 covers 2013 to 2017. The Mk8 pre-facelift covers 2018 to 2021, while the visibly revised Mk8 facelift covers 2022 to 2023. These are drawing ranges, so they identify the pictured face rather than an ordinary Fiesta generation label.
Does the Fiesta ST Mk8 have more power than the Mk7?
The signed catalogue prints list 179 bhp for the Mk7 and 197 bhp for both Mk8 drawings. Ford’s familiar launch headlines are 182 PS and 200 PS respectively, so the site converts the units instead of labelling PS as bhp.
Why does the Fiesta ST Mk8 facelift have its own drawing?
The 2022 facelift changed the visible nose. A specification option can change figures but cannot move a line in the artwork, so the pre-facelift and facelift need separate drawings, year ranges and reviews.
